Debrecen, Hungary – Oklahoma State freshman Eric Dailey Jr. scored 11 points, capped by a tip-in with 53 seconds remaining, to help the United States get past upset-minded Slovenia, 77-72, Sunday at the FIBA U19 World Cup.

Team USA (2-0) trailed by 11 points with 9:19 remaining but finished the game on a 25-9 run. After shooting just 37% through the first three quarters, the Americans converted 11-of-17 in the final period.

Tennessee sophomore Tobe Awaka's floater with 1:48 remaining put the Americans ahead for good and Dailey provided some crucial insurance on the next possession, tipping in an Awaka miss for a four-point lead with less than a minute to play.

Dailey played a total of 18 minutes and was 5-of-9 from the field while collecting five rebounds, two steals and an assist.

In two games in Hungary, the 6-foot-9 forward is averaging nearly 31 points-per-40-minutes while shooting an efficient 55% from the field.

The United States has Monday off before finishing out pool play Tuesday against winless Lebanon (8 a.m. CT). All games air live or on-demand at youtube.com/FIBA.
