Oklahoma State Cowgirls Win Exhibition Opener in Rome

ROME - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team took down a squad comprised of Roman All-Stars, 94-61, on Thursday evening in the first of three exhibition contests during its tour of Italy and Greece.
The Cowgirls knocked down 14 3-pointers in the contest and got an impressive all-around performance from Stailee Heard. The freshman finished with 26 points, 15 rebounds, three assists and three steals.
After a slow start offensively that saw OSU hold a 16-11 lead after the first 10 minutes, the Cowgirl offense got going in the second quarter.
Head coach Jacie Hoyt's squad erupted with 29 points in the frame to take a 45-22 lead at the intermission.
OSU produced another big quarter in the third with 27 points, including five treys.
Quincy Noble added 15 points, while Rylee Langerman, Ale'jah Douglas (10 points each) and Hannah Gusters (12 points) joined Heard in double figures.
OSU will travel to Sorrento, Italy for three days before heading to Athens, Greece for the final two games of its tour.
