STILLWATER – The scoreboard has been repeated so many times. Oklahoma State lost quarterback Spencer Sanders, receivers Bryson Green and John Paul Richardson, running back Dominic Richardson, defensive end Trace Ford, linebacker Mason Cobb, and more. The Cowboys picked up quarterback Alan Bowman; receivers De’Zhaun Stribling, Arland Bruce IV, and Leon Johnson III; running back Elijah Collins, defensive end Anthony Goodlow, and linebacker Justin Wright.

So we offer but don't recruit the best players. We offer they don't show interest and then we give up. Plain and simple. Also we don't land 5 stars. Period. Let's call it like it is Robert. So awesome job calling out the fans and using bs to back it up

It proves there are a few fans that lack the brain power to make effective decisions with the available resources. These fans, if they really are, probably have a mess of a life and can't think for themselves.

The good thing is everybody gets to express their opinion as long as they do it without being hateful. I respect that right. They do more than offer. A prospect offered is going to get phone calls, generally a school visit, and if they show no interest then you have to move on. Time management is a major criteria in successful recruiting. Waste time on prospects that won't come to your school and you often miss out on some good ones thatwould come to your school. Its' a part of the process.

I'll call bs when I see it. It's that simple. You pay for a service and it would be cool for it to have value for fans instead of scrutiny. Robert basically called out fans that don't accept our low standard way of recruiting. The robot fans just take it in and do realize the author was trashing them

Good stuff, I appreciate the insight. The content provided here is second to none. I have been in quite a few of these types of sites. In life, there are always glass-half-empty versus glass-half-full perceptions. But there is something you should think about. Recruits and their families read boards. Some like me even subscribe to the pay side. What perception do you want them to have of the University? It is okay to have opinions. But to bash coaches, the staff here or to bash a recruit because of his ranking, offers or exposure is not a good look. Especially when something is written about them on the free side. At the end of the day, rankings and stars are out the door when they begin their college career. Some have it some don't. You can tell by the banners hanging in the Sherman Smith Training Center that Coach Gundy & Staff have got it right more than they have got it wrong with recruits. If you would have asked me 6 months ago I would have told you my son was going to be a Baylor Bear. But because of the job that Coach Gundy, Coach Dickey & others have done we are going to be a Cowboy and we are proud of it. The way the Coaches & their wives have treated my son during his recruitment is like none other. You have something special here in Stillwater do not take it for granted. You don't know what you have until it is gone. Sorry for the editorial, these are just my thoughts. #GoPokes

If a recruit would pass on a school because a fan said recruiting isn't very good on a forum then it's likely he isn't the type of kid we need.

I can assure you Robert wasn't trashing anyone. And it doesn't affect the vast majority of us when he refers to folks in denial as again, the majority of OSU fans know how far this program has arisen and how good Gundy's Cowboys have been nationally for the last dozen years. We also could care less if Malcolm Rodriguez was a 5 star in the view of OU tied media in Oklahoma. We're just glad he's been a hit within the NFL and that the Cowboys have averaged 2nd place in the Big XII behind only OU and 4 places above those 5 star loaded Longhorns who have 3 or 4 times our financial resources.

My point exactly. You pay for the subscription. You expect to read insight about the sports programs at osu. Not someone making up narratives and false facts then blasting the fans for it. So exactly why I said it's bs reporting. In the old days they called it a lack of integrity in writing. What are you confused about? You're mad I called out Robert but haven't acknowledged once what it was about. This would be a proper time to mind your own business.

I don't agree with him and I did report with quotes to back it up. Yes, I said some fan disagree and complain with Gundy and His staff's recruiting, but nobody at Oklahoma State has ever done it better. Also, Oklahoma State has to deal with it's own dynamics and Gundy has learned well what thos are and how to deal with them. If Pokes4158 isn't satisfield then that is his story and I'm sure he will tell it in these comments, already has some.

You said we land blue chips. 4 stars and some 5 stars but mostly 3 stars. What 5 star kids? None. So why lie Robert? Why say things that have no purpose?

Yep the 5 stars have not been great on the whole, and even the 4 stars have seemed to exit early and disappear. Yet somehow we won more football games than all but 9 schools in the past decade.

Maybe I'm crazy, but that sounds like recruiting has been pretty solid.

Nope you are right on the money! It isn't just recruiting the player into OSU but ALSO HOW YOU DEVELOP THEM AND GUNDY AND THE STAFF GET AN A IN THAT DEPARTMENT!!!

So if we have offered so many blue chip guys over all these years but haven't landed very many at all especially if we do the ratio then why are fans in denial? The proof is there. This coaching staff strikes out majorly. Our best players were 4 star kids. So explain that. If a fan questions our recruiting of the star players how would that fan be in denial?

The reference to denail was not over stars but over failue in recruiting and the program not achieving at a high level, which they have recruied well because they have achieved at the highest level for the longest stretch of time in Oklahoma State football history.

Maybe you aren't lying Robert but you are definitely twisting the truth to fit a narrative while also bashing the fans that have a recruiting opinion you don't like. A little tutorial. When you have your pick of schools (which most every 5 and 4 star do), why would you pick a school like OSU that's without a championship history, is out of the way, has no big time city amenities, is playing in a second tier conference, has average academics, with second tier NIL opportunities, and is no media darling? Because we offered, kept in contact, promised playing time and got on our hands and knees and begged?
