Publisher’s Note: This is the seventh installment of the Pokes Report NIL Journal for the 2023 football season. For the first time we are featuring a quarterback in super senior Alan Bowman. As you know in the past, the 2021 season with center Danny Godlevski and last season with linebacker Xavier Benson we have featured first-year players that transferred into Oklahoma State through the portal.

Just an outstanding guy! I hope he can cement QB 1 because he is the leader we need.

They need to let Bowman play this full game and let him get into a rythm

I'm mixed.... love Bowman, but...

what if they let him play the whole game and he never develops a rhythm?

What then? A whole game wasted on yet another experiment?

Like Gundy said - PT is based on practice. It should probably stay that way.

Three quarterbacks equal NO quarterback!! No confidence or opportunity to get into any rhythm.

Give the ball to this quality leader with experience and throw the ball downfield. Maybe even run a crossing route or at least use the middle of the field.

Last Saturday was special in a bad way….in 57 years of season tickets I believe, overall, that was the worst game I have ever seen an OSU football team play!!

Oh Ten and One, Oh Ten and One...

(sung to the tune of O' Christmas Tree)

certainly there are any number of Bedlam games that would fit that bill as well....

Then try another quarterback next game. We are not going to find the guy doing this 4 Drive BS. Unless your last name is Gundy then you get 6 Drives

Gundy is making a terrible, inexcusable mistake by stubbornly going forward with this multiple QB crap. NO ONE can get into a game rhythm working 4 sets of downs. The team can't gel around a guy. This action is a clear indicator that he no longer should be the head coach. This is an absolutely inexcusable rookie mistake by a clueless "leader".

Gundy got "more drives", because he actually had a SUCCESSFUL drive, AND because Rangel missed some practice last week and was under the weather all week.

I think we all know what the options are, 1) keep trying to five them all opportunity to earn it, 2) pick one and let them play whether they've earned it or not, 3) Randomly pick one to start and if they can't produce in a half then randomly pick another one.

you're not really providing any great information with your ad hoc solutions.

other than, yes they can. We've seen it many times, when a QB goes down and the backup comes in and leads the team. Purdy from ISU did it to us, Illingworth did it in the Tulsa game 4th QTR. The Bama QB did it in the MNC game.

It happens all the time.

Bowman got into rhythm on his first series last week. What if you had 4 series and had 4 TDs out of it, we use to do that all the time, with any number of QBs.

I don't think you thought through your statement very well.

For those calling for Bowman please enlighten us on what he has done to be inserted over Gundy? It won't be the scrambling ability which is needed with this o-line. Think about it

In reply to RodeoPoke

I went to every game home and away during 0-10-1
Did you?

I can tell you that we were not as pitiful in all phases in any of those as last Saturday.
I have also sat through several beat downs but I don't believe even at 66-7 by the gooners that everyone on the field played as bad as we did against an average S Alabama team.
The big losses were all against outstanding opponents.
