how much of the busted coverage was because Lyrik Rawls was not there?

AMES, Iowa – It’s kind of like the offensive review, there were aspects of this game where the defense showed real improvement, but in the end there were areas that continued to be a problem and they helped lead to a 34-27 win by Iowa State. The game was winnable, but Oklahoma State didn’t do enough.
General observations start with missed tackles where Oklahoma State improved dramatically. Iowa State ran the ball 34 times for 74-yards and a paltry 2.2-yards per carry.
Fundamentals you learn in high school ball, leverage and position to take on the receiver on the slant route!!!PokeRob said:
The Safeties look lost at best. This is not working we need to play more zone and hope we can handle the run. We are leaving guys on islands and they cannot handle it. We have given up two TDS in the last two weeks trying to cover what I would call a slant one on one. In a zone you can hand that receiver off to another defender as they cross the field. The plan is not working.
