Trey Rucker Cited for DUI After Loss to Iowa State
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Cowboys safety Trey Rucker; a red-shirt senior transfer from Fairfax, Va. and Wake Forest; was arrested for the second time in the OSU tenure of his college career as he was pulled over by Stillwater Police and cited for driving under the influence (alcohol). This story was first reported on social media by Oklahoma mughots and by Daily O’Collegian reporter Gabriel Trevino. Rucker, who had started and played on Saturday for the Cowboys in 34-27 loss at Iowa State, returned home with the team and arrived back in Stillwater approximately 9:30 p.m. He practiced with his teammates in the Monday practice coming back to start the bye week for the Cowboys.
In the game on Saturday Rucker made five tackles,two unassisted. He also had a coverage bust in man coverage where Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht hit receiver Jaylen Noel for a 38-yard touchdown to tie the game in the first quarter 7-7.
So far this season Rucker, who has started all games has 18 tackles with one tackle for loss. The native of Fairfax, Va. attended Wake Forest and while playing there started nine games (all as a freshman) and played in 18 games with 84 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, two interceptions, two passes defended, and a fumble recovered.
In his first season at Oklahoma State, he played in 14 games and had 10 tackles. He did not play for academic reasons in the 2022 season until the Guaranteed Rate Bowl against Wisconsin. In that game he had three tackles with an interception and a pass defended.
Rucker’s previous arrest was on June 2 when he was arrested and accused of assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, DUI, and giving false information to a police officer. This occurred near the Oklahoma State campus on Hall of Fame.
