STILLWATER – Head coach Mike Gundy was no less pressing with the offensive staff and the offensive players as he was with the defense during the bye week and the week leading into the Kansas State game. In particular there was a meeting on Thursday of the bye week prior to practice that there were whispers about. That was the players’ moment. The staff had several and they were all early in the morning. It’s like any business or operation.

Great job by Coaches Dunn, Dickey, McEndoo,Rattay, Wozniak and Allen!

Gotta give ''em credit when it's due.

Just to help the education of us fans. Why was the play calling so different in the second half? And why can't our offense get one last first down to close out a win? It seems like we always give the ball back to opponents for one last chance? Not complaining. Really trying to learn. Go Pokes!

I only know what's been stated, our game plan was to use short passing slant passes to make their safeties hold back and help our running. It worked 1st half as they were in man coverage. They adjusted a few things at halftime and came out in zone to frustrate the short passing and perhaps get a pick. It worked somewhat and Bowman wouldn't bite on throwing into danger. I assume Gundy had his Pat Jones discussion on throwing interceptions with Bowman.

The part about always going conservative and giving the ball back to the opponent at the end must be related to some kind of analytics. It's all I can think of, because he ALWAYS does it. They play to run down the clock and eat opponents timeouts instead of pushing on offense to maintain possession. I guess there are numbers somewhere telling them it's a workable solution because they do it every single time.
