Oklahoma State Homecoming Year of the Cowboy Gets Great News with Game Time
STILLWATER – America’s greatest Homecoming and this year’s theme “The Year of the Cowboy” will not have to compress all of it’s many events into a Saturday morning window at the crack of dawn. The Big 12 Conference and it’s television partners ESPN/ABC and FOX took a little longer to select the game times for the games on Saturday, Oct. 28 and the homecoming contest in Stillwater with Big 12 newcomer the University of Cincinnati. The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. CT and be televised on ESPN2. That news had to bring out joyous celebration from Whitehurst and the President’s office on campus to the Student Union and the OSU Foundation.
The later kickoff will allow all University colleges and offices to have event all day for students, alumni, donors, and fans. Homecoming as the name implies is a time to welcome all back to the Oklahoma State campus and entertain and raise money like any good organization does. There are so many events including the homecoming parade, homecoming lunches, tailgates on the lawns of buildings from the Spears School of Business to the Endeavor Building and Oklahoma State engineering.
It allows the day, events, and tailgating to stretch out at a leisurely pace.
There are some significant and attractive games on the Big 12 schedule for that Saturday as all teams are in action with nobody having a bye week.
Oklahoma at Kansas will kickoff early on FOX with the Big Noon Kickoff at 11 a.m. BYU visiting Texas in Austin got a plum television spot with a 2:30 CT kickoff on ABC.
