Injury Update: Really Expect to See Blaine Green Today at UCF
ORLANDO, Fla. – Oklahoma State got a Bedlam win last week for the ages, but they did it without a lot of injuries that will impact the Pokes in the stretch drive as they battle back-to-back-to-back games with new Big 12 members in an effort to get to the Big 12 Championship Game. The one casualty last Saturday was offensive guard Jason Brooks Jr. with a knee injury. Brooks Jr. is out for this week and likely several others, but Cole Briminham is well-versed and ready to play. The receivers corps is getting healthier and the defense has stayed steady from an injury standpoint.
On the defense the Cowboys still have safety Lyrik Rawls (knee) and linebacker Justin Wright (knee) out for the season. Rover Kendal Daniels and sensational sophomore linebacker Nick Martin have been battling through injuries and playing, but both are full speed for UCF today in Orlando. The defense, as stated is in good shape.
On the offensive side the good news is wide receiver Blaine Green, who suited up and was available last week is even better and should play against UCF. Green can back up Brennan Presley at the slot receiver and he can play outside as well. Cade Cabbiness is back from his preseason collarbone injury and has played the past two weeks.
The receiver corps is still without Jaden Bray, who is improving and could be back soon, as soon as Houston next week. De’Zhaun Stribling is out with a wrist injury, but he suited up for practtice this week and could be back for postseason.
Brooks is out, but the rest of the offensive line is good including veteran Taylor Miterko, who can play at all positions other than center. Youngsters like Austin Kawecki, Jack Endean, and Noah McKinney are all poised to help if needed.
