Cowboys Getting Healthier for Today in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – “We are getting some guys back at receiver,” Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn confirmed on Thursday. In this case a receiver as Jaden Bray practiced fully during the week and has been cleared to get back to action by the OSU Sports Medicine staff. Bray joins Rashod Owens, Leon Johnson III, Brennan Presley, and Cale Cabbinesss as they have held down the receiver position the past few games. The Pokes are still minus De’Zhaun Stribling who has been out and will be until postseason, He still has a cast on but it is going to be removed soon. Talyn Shettron is also still out for an unannouned period of time, possibly the season.

The offensive line was missing, in parts last week in practice and in the game with UCF, center Joe Michalski and left guard Cole Birmingham. Both were back fully in practice this week and are expected ready for duty against Houston. That leaves guard Jason Brooks Jr. as the only veteran offensive lineman missing for the UH contest.

Running back Elijah Collins is dealing with an ankle sprain and missed the UCF game and he is week-to-week and game-to-game on his return.

On the defensive side the team is pretty healthy with safety Lyrik Rawls and linebacker Justin Wright both missing and out for the season following knee surgeries. Like most player and all teams, there are players with bumps and bruises, aches and pains, but they are good to go.
