STILLWATER – On the heels of the wildly successful limited run of Loyal & True Reserve, Oklahoma State Athletics is once again partnering with Hochatown Distilling Company to release Orange Label, an officially licensed craft bourbon.

“The strength and popularity of the OSU brand was evident all across the state with the highly successful release of Loyal & True,” said Chad Weiberg, Oklahoma State Athletics Director.  “As we continue to develop new product offerings to engage Oklahoma State fans, we are excited to continue our partnership with a leader in the Oklahoma craft bourbon industry, Hochatown Distilling Company, to release the new Orange Label.”

Orange Label will be available beginning Monday, November 20 in the distillery’s Speakeasy and select alcohol beverage retailers in Oklahoma. Orange Label, which will be available at retailers throughout the year, will be more widely available than the higher-end label Loyal & True Reserve that will be distributed through limited allotments and release dates.

“We are honored to launch yet another uniquely distilled craft bourbon alongside Oklahoma State Athletics,” said Tommy McDaniel, Hochatown Distilling Company. “We were blown away by the response from Cowboy fans when we released the limited batch of Loyal & True to celebrate the ‘Year of the Cowboy’ and can’t wait for the OSU community to taste this next handcrafted creation.”

Hochatown Distilling Company was formed in 2015 in the heart of southeastern Oklahoma with the goal of producing the finest quality spirits. The community of Hochatown has a long history of producing quality moonshines, aided by the pristine water of the Mt. Fork River and the security of the remote bottoms and hollers of the Kiamichi Mountains.

Among the premier athletic departments in America, Oklahoma State is home to 55 team national championships across seven different sports, 194 NCAA individual champions and 335 team conference championships.

The collaboration between OSU and the Hochatown Distilling Company was created through athletic multimedia rights holder Cowboy Sports Properties, the locally based team of LEARFIELD – the leading media and technology powering college athletics, and the Orange Label is licensed through licensing agency CLC.

“We are always looking for innovative ways to create connections between Cowboy fans and the local businesses that help our community thrive,” said Kip Racy, Vice President and General Manager of Cowboy Sports Properties. “This latest collaboration with Hochatown Distilling Company does just that by creating a distinctive spirit that can be enjoyed by bourbon lovers and Oklahoma State commemorative item collectors alike.”

Not sure Oklahoma State University needs to be teaming with a distillery in a business venture.

OSU appears to be losing it's focus.

OSU's purpose is to educate students. Promoting alcohol sales should not be a purpose of OSU.

Again I don't believe OSU should be involved in promoting distilleries in any way. If OSU became involved in the

promotion of gambling (for example casinos), tobacco use as well as marijuana usage, I would be opposed as

well.

Personally, I started a business in 1987 that I still own and operate. I know a thing or two about being an

entrepreneur. I am a graduate of the Spears School of Business as well.

As for the purpose of Oklahoma State University, I believe it is to educate the students. OSU should be

an institution of higher learning and not an endeavor to make money no what the particular business scheme may

be. OSU needs to be a university first and foremost, not a business enterprise.

LOL - as if NCAA sports is not a business enterprise. As if for profit universities (that educate) are not a business enterprise.

How about religion or politics, you missed those.... SMH.

Good thing you are not on the BOR.

The Board of Regents could use some roster changes.
