Merry Christmas Everybody from Pokes Report

HOUSTON, Texas – Merry Christmas to all of you out there, subscribers and all Cowboys fans. Thank you for showing up here when you do. I wanted to send out a Christmas message before heading to Christmas Day practice. I thought it best to share that picture from Pat Kinnison. It was one of my favorites from the postgame of the last Big 12 Bedlam football game ever. It has been a fantastic year. A football season that was rescued from a “rocky” September and became a near Big 12 Championship season. 

Mike Gundy said it to me again on Christmas Eve when we recorded the pregame interviews for the Cowboy Radio Network pregame show when he said this team has been so fun to be around because they love each other and they care so much. They come to work everyday. It is not the most talented team although there is plenty of talent. Ollie Gordon II, Collin Oliver, Leon Johnson III, and Nick Martin are great examples and there are so many more. 

I wish for all Oklahoma State coaches the kind of team that Coach Gundy and his staff have had this season, hard working, heavy caring, and devoted to each other and the cause. 

Thanks for Oklahoma State University, all of it’s fans and supporters, all of the coaches and athletes. 

I especially would like to thank folks like Larry Reece, Kevin Klintworth, Reid Sigmon, Sean Maguire, Chris Deal, and Chad Weiberg. I get to work with so many dedicated and tremendous professionals.

I like my new sunglasses. 

It has been a fantastic year. I also am very thankful and appreciative of the great University leadership we have in President Dr. Kayse Shrum, her husband and first gentleman Darren Shrum, and my friend Vice-President Kyle Wray. 

I want to share a Christmas present I received today in Houston from my son-in-law and daughter in Katy and Logan. They got me some badly needed new Oakley sunglasses. You can’t see it, but engraved in the lens at the right from in front is this “27-24”.
