Maxwell and Cowgirls Adjust Weekend Schedule Due to Weather and Obstacles
STILLWATER – After a 2-0 start to the season last week was cut short in Monroe, La. at the Best in the Bayou Classic now weather, power, water, and travel issues have combined to cancel the Tracy Beard Invitational in Frisco, Texas, so the Oklahoma State softball team has adjusted its schedule. Kenny Gajewski told Pokes Report and Triple Play Sports Radio in an interview that Sports Talk with Robert Allen and Friends that his team will head deeper into Texas.
The Cowgirls are now going to Conroe, Texas to compete at Scrap Yard Sports this weekend, where they will play four games. The schedule updates:
Sat., Feb. 20 – OSU vs. Texas A&M – Corpus Christi – 12:00 p.m.
Sat., Feb. 20 – OSU vs. North Texas – 2:30 p.m.
Sun., Feb. 21 – OSU vs. Texas A&M Corpus Christi – 3:30 p.m.
Sun., Feb. 21 – OSU vs. Tarleton State – 5:45 p.m.
The No. 7-ranked Cowgirls will stay on the road on Monday for a double header scheduled at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. The Cowgirls will then stop in Lake Charles, La. on Tuesday for a single game with McNeese State. From there it is on to LSU and Baton Rouge. The team will headquarter there and practice on Wednesday and Thursday, catch up with academics before a full weekend of softball at LSU starting with two games on Friday, Feb. 25 against the No. 9-ranked Lady Tigers. Oklahoma State will also play Buffalo and Louisiana.
