STILLWATER – It will be a while before the media gets a chance to talk with and find out more firsthand about new defensive line coach Paul Randolph. On the surface we know that Randolph was born in Gainesville, Georgia. He went to Tennessee-Martin to school where he played linebacker and played well enough to catch on in the Canadian Football League. He played nine years in the CFL, the first seven with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, where he was also a team captain.

YIPES....

he's had 5 jobs in the past 10 years, he doesn't seem to stay put long.

I hope this works out.

I don't get this one. Was Greg Richmond NOT doing a good job? This had better be something related to a flaw, e.g. lack of integrity and honesty, lying about something, etc, cause it doesn't make any sense. D-line has been good for the most part and Richmond is a good recruiter.

Most coaches have short tenures. Most of the early 1 year moves were all going to a better school. The latter part are about staffs. He's been on a lot of staffs that had the head coach dismissed. That's not a reflection on the assistant, but it sure makes it hard to have a lot of tenure.

The other thing is he's been Associate Head Coach and an Asst AD. So that says he's well thought of as far as the larger business of running the team.

Once again I wouldn't spend a lot of time questioning a Gundy hire.

As for GR I'd say most likely it was the lack of pressure and tying up enough OL to help out the LB's. Everything RA has said on this change was that it was performance based. This is high end coaching and if you're not getting it done at the top end they're going to let you go.
