Oklahoma State Losing Streak Hits Four with Loss at Iowa State

AMES, Iowa – Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team suffered its fourth-straight loss on Wednesday night when it fell to Iowa State, 78-67, in Ames, Iowa. The Cowgirls fall to 11-10 on the season and 4-6 in conference play in the loss. They’ll now look ahead to the first round of Bedlam on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Quincy Noble led OSU with 24 points and six rebounds. Anna Gret Asi scored 13, with 10 coming in the second half, to go with seven assists, and Rylee Langerman finished with 12 off the bench.
Oklahoma State struggled to score early, failing to find its first basket until the 6:19 mark of the first quarter. The Cowgirls would find a rhythm, however, going on an 11-3 run to close the gap to five entering the second.
The second quarter played nearly even, with both teams struggling from the field. Noble, Asi and Langerman all buried triples in the period, but the Cowgirls trailed 32-28 at the half.
In the third, OSU opened the quarter with a 7-2 run, taking its first lead of the game on an Asi layup. The Cowgirls would later take a five-point lead on an Asi three pointer, but Iowa State responded with a 10-0 run to take a 52-47 lead into the fourth.
The Cyclones stifled any chance at an Oklahoma State comeback by scoring 26 points in the fourth quarter, shooting 68.8% from the field and 50% from three to close out the 78-67 win.
Audi Crooks finished with 29 points and eight rebounds for Iowa State. Emily Ryan also added nine points, nine rebounds and 14 assists for the Cyclones.
