Quarterback's Room Looks Much the Same, Competition this Spring

STILLWATER – We continue with our look at the Oklahoma State football team following the 10-4 Tax Act Texas Bowl winning and Big 12 Championship runner-up season with the quarterbacks. There is not more important position for continuity and production and there is greater proof of that than the 2023 Oklahoma State Cowboys that started in a three-way rotation at quarterback through the three-game non conference season able to survive 2-1 but with an embarrassing 33-7 loss to South Alabama.

Let's just hope Flores understands if he doesn't get the job. Would hurt to lose him to the portal.

Bowman should be gone. 7 years is too long to be a college football player. Why are they willing to risk a 3 year starter with huge upside to gain 1 more year of a known commodity who has long since peaked? If Flores blows town, or Rangel either, because Bowman won't leave after being a super duper triple friple red red red shirt super senior, HCMG has no one to blame but himself.

We saw Bowman's ceiling last season IMO. Hope Flores gets every opportunity to win the job.

I am so happy that Bowman will be back to lead the team all season.

We saw last year what happens when you put in inexperienced players at QB.

Please, no more of that, not ever.

If the other QBs don't want to be here, they don't have to be.

OSU will always have strong candidates in the QB room.

I sure don't remember many folks complaining when Corndog won the job over super 4-star recruit Spencer Sanders.

You do realize we finished 10-4 and played in the conference championship game and won the subsequent bowl game as well with Bowman at QB after that cluster with the three QB rotation after the first three games! I have t even seen Flores perform in PRACTICE much less GAMES and I am more wired in and connected to this program than you!!!

Bowman has started most of one season out of the last 5 so some rust should have been expected. I'd be surprised if he's not better this year and he was very good at times last year. Seems to be able to make all the throws and primarily needs to stop turnovers/interceptions. If somebody beats him out, so be it. Best guy should start, but absent injury at QB, I don't expect it to happen. I could see #2 gets some playing time IF we can get 3 or 4 score separations in 3rd or 4th quarters.

Bowman was much better when they stopped trying to make him play the running offense, and changed it up to more suit his skills, brining in more TE and FB play.... the OLine getting settled certainly helped things too.

Bowman did well. Imagine coming into a new program and splitting first team reps with not one but two other Qbs not only in practice but in the first three games. Qb Wr connection is real and he has a good connection with Presley and Owens. This offense won't be the issue next year.
