In indoor track, Taylor Roe continues to add to her long list of accomplishments as she shatters another school record in the 5,000 Meters by 12 seconds overall with her time of 15:12.71 at the Eagle Invitational in Boston, Mass.

Oklahoma State’s third-ranked women’s tennis team rolled past No. 14 Auburn, 4-0, in the opening round of the 2024 ITA Indoor National Championships on Friday.

It also advances to the second round of the ITA Indoor National Championships for the first time since 2017 and will face either current Big 12 rival No. 10 Texas in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Peyre won her match in straight sets vs. Auburn.

The doubles point was tightly contested, ultimately coming down to a tiebreaker on court three. In a back-and-forth affair, OSU’s Kristina Novak and Safiya Carrington prevailed over Carolyn Ansari and Selin Ovunc, 7-6 (7-4), to clinch the doubles point for the Cowgirls.

In singles, Oklahoma State quickly gained control of each match, winning the first set on all six courts. Novak was the first to wrap up her win on court six, defeating Flach, 6-2, 6-0. Lucia Peyre was the next to turn in an OSU point, beating Okutoyi, 6-2, 6-3, to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Carrington clinched the match.

With the Cowgirls one point from clinching, Carrington polished off a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Bennett on court four to secure the Oklahoma State win. Again, Oklahoma State will meet six-eeded and No. 10 Texas in the second round on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. CT.

Oklahoma State men’s and women’s indoor track & field kicked off the first day of the Eagle Elite Invitational in Boston with several impressive and record-breaking performances at the state-of-the-art the TRACK at New Balance. Roe lapped the rest of the field and took home the victory by nearly 40 seconds overall, with her time ranking as the third-fastest in NCAA history at the time of completion.

Billah Jepkirui also took home gold and a new personal best in the Mile with her winning time of 4:29.64. Jepkirui now holds the second-fastest time in school history in the event, behind only Cowgirl national champion Kaela Edwards.

On the men’s side, Sam Mason secured third overall with his new personal-best toss in the Weight Throw with a distance of 20.41 meters, which continues to inch closer to the school record set by Cowboy Olympian Nick Miller in 2014.

Over on the track, DJ McArthur took home second in the 400 Meters with his time of 47.12. This time gives McArthur a new personal best and moves him up to fourth in school history. In the men’s Mile, Cowboy freshman Brian Musau also set a new personal best with his time of 3:55.49, improving upon his own third-place mark in program history. Right behind Musau was teammate Ryan Schoppe, who clocked an impressive time of 3:56.23 for a fourth-place finish on the day.

The Cowboys and Cowgirls resume action in Boston tomorrow for the final day of the Eagle Elite Invitational starting at 9:30 a.m. CT.
