CLEARWATER, Fla. – The No. 6 Oklahoma State softball team took a walk-off 7-6 defeat at the hands of No. 12 LSU Saturday at Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational.  With the loss, the Cowgirls fell to 6-2. LSU improved to 8-0. The Cowgirls lost theis second game scheduled on Saturday.  Due to inclement weather in the forecast for the remainder of the day, Oklahoma State softball’s game against No. 22 Northwestern has been canceled.

The Cowgirls are still scheduled to face off against Georgia Tech in the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational finale tomorrow, with first pitch slated for 11:30 a.m. CT. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+ and can be heard on KGFY 105.5 FM and the Varsity Network app with Ryan Breeden on the call.

Despite a home run from Tallen Edwards on the first pitch of the game, Oklahoma State fell behind, 5-1, through two innings. The Cowgirls recaptured the lead with a five run third to go up, 6-5. Fueling the rally were RBI singles from Karli Godwin, Micaela Wark and Rosie Davis and an RBI double from Caroline Wang.

After the two teams combined to score 11 runs through the first three innings, the pitching and defense took over, with neither squad scoring again until Tiger designated player Hannah Carson's game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh.

Lexi Kilfoyl took the loss for OSU to bring her season record to 3-2. Despite allowing 11 hits and six earned runs to the Cowgirls, preseason All-American Sydney Berzon improved to 3-0 for the Tigers.
