A Question of Competition Now for Oklahoma State Basketball

STILLWATER – Gallagher-Iba Arena was as empty as it has been seemingly all season for a Cowboys basketball game. The comparison to the 10,000 plus crowd from Saturday’s overtime loss and the crushing desparation shot made by Oklahoma’s Javian McCollom to Wednesday’s paltry crowd for the UCF contest was depressing. The number of fans and the noise they make is the one sure barometer of caring that coaches and players feel.

Sad. I have 9 season tickets to men's basketball. My family doesn't want to go anymore. Easy decision.

I've said it before, but these freshman appear weary to me by the latter part of the 1st half. These more mature teams seemingly have more strength and our team seems to get physically and focus wise worn down.

Depth is certainly an issue. With better depth, we could get our most mistake prone player out of the game at critical times.
Hate to point at one player but, a case can be made that Quion Williams has been a significant factor in 4 of our conference losses.
A turnover on a terrible pass late in overtime with Baylor while game is tied was first. That was followed by a turnover and 2 missed free throws at K-State when we had a chance to win. An airball from several feet behind the 3point line with the game in Norman tied at 56 and less than 2 minutes to go. And lastly, this Wednesday night doing his classic miss of a bunny layup against UCF with us down 3 and about a minute to go.
Not to say we would have won any of those 4 games but, those mistakes eliminated our chances.
Quion can jump out of the gym with dunks a specialty but, the excitement at critical times seems to overwhelm him.
Other than dunks, he has learned not to shoot very often cause him making shots and bad passes have been a problem both of the last 2 seasons.
I don't miss games in Stillwater and have either attended or watched all our away games.

BTW- Sorry I don't have a cute code name to go by for an occasional post.

Both ends of the court are absolutely embarrassing!!!

Offensive end, a couple of passes, then jack it from downtown!!! Defensive end, absolutely zero clue as what is hard nose, in your shorts defense!!!

Boynton should resign and stop taking the school's money, but if he doesn't, then walk his losing rear end to the door!!!
