Kaid Brock Announces Retirement From Wrestling
STILLWATER – After having a third surgery to repair significant knee damage, Oklahoma State senior Kaid Brock has announced he’s retiring from the sport.
He took to Instagram to make the announcement.
“I’d like to thank my family, friends, and fans for always cheering for me. The sport of wrestling has been a huge part of my life. It has been a very tough ride, but a cowboy always climbs back on for the next ride. However, this time it’s time to hang up my hat and my spurs. Last week I had my third and final knee surgery. My body is telling me it’s time. I’ll genuinely miss this sport, and I’ll always hold a little regret or what if. What if I was never hurt? What could I have done? But that’s not the direction to look. I’m now looking forward to the future, not back at the past. I do know that I can thank this sport for teaching me how to endure and overcome adversity. So life, I’m ready for yah. If you’re looking for me, I’ll probably be out hunting. So catch yah later.”

Brock joins Boo Lewallen as the second Cowboy who won’t be taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility due to several significant injuries.
Brock, who burst onto the Oklahoma State wrestling scene when he pinned returning NCAA champion, and No. 2 overall wrestler in the country at 133-pounds, Cody Brewer in just 42 seconds.
He suffered the first of his three knee injuries during the 2016-17 season, but still finished the season with a 19-1 record. Over the next three seasons, Brock would go 81-18 overall, earned All-America status twice, finished second at the Big 12 tournament each year and was fifth at the NCAA tournament in 2017-18.
In all, Brock finishes his Cowboy career with a 104-19 overall record and will certainly go down as one of the most memorable Cowboys in program history.
