Oklahoma State Makes the Cut for 2025 DB Zadian Gentry
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State made the cut to land a talented corner out of the DFW metroplex. Zadian Gentry, a corner out of McKinney, TX, took to Twitter on Wednesday and announced his top five schools.
Teammate to current Oklahoma State freshman Jonathan Agumadu, Gentry checks in at 6-2, 165 pounds, and currently holds more than 30 offers, including Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Cincinnati, Houston, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon State, TCU and Texas Tech among others.
He currently has an official visit scheduled to Stillwater for April 26. He also has officials scheduled to Wisconsin on May 31 and Baylor June 14. I would imagine you’ll see officials scheduled to both Missouri and SMU in the coming days.
This past season as a junior, Gentry helped McKinney to a 9-3 overall record and recorded 41 total tackles, 31 of which were solo stops, four pass break ups and two interceptions.
As a sophomore in 2022, Gentry recorded 35 total tackles, 26 of which were solo stops, 3.0 tackles for loss, 10 pass break ups, one interception and one fumble recovery.
Here’s a break down of Gentry’s game for a Pokes Report recruiting analyst:
“Zadian Gentry is a long, rangy outside cornerback. The 6-foot-2 cornerback can be seen quite a bit playing off off-man coverage, but he has shown he has the ability to step up and play press-man. Gentry has a natural feel for defending routes and shutting off passing lanes and has the ball skills to not only get hands on passes, but intercept them. Gentry is also an able, and willing, tackler in the run game. Whether it is in coverage or run defense, Gentry crashes down well and is always in a position to put contact on a runner.”
