STILLWATER – Oklahoma State pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl was named to the 2024 United State Women’s Elite Team Japan All-State Series roster on Friday. She’s one of 16 softball players who were named to the roster which is set to compete against Japan from July 4-8.

This marks the first senior level Team USA selection for Kilfoyl, who also competed at the World Baseball Softball Confederation U19 World Cup back in 2017 and 2019.

This season as a grad senior, Kilfoyl leads the Big 12 in multiple categories, including earned run average at 0.84, wins with 15, six shutouts and a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 5.06. On top of that, she’s sitting with a win/loss record of 21-2 in 100.1 innings pitched, 86 strikeouts and just 17 walks.

Because of that, she’s swept the Wilson/NFCA and Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors twice this season.

The U.S. Elite Team will travel to multiple Japanese cities this summer, while facing No. 2 Japan.

According to OSU Athletics media relations, “Athletes were chosen by the Women's National Team Selection Committee (WNTSC) based on previous and ongoing evaluations at the collegiate levels as well as USA Softball National Team events, trials and camps.”

What makes this selection interesting is Kilfoyl will be teamed up with former Cowgirl pitcher, and current OU pitch, Kelly Maxwel.
