Oklahoma State Softball Completes Sweep of Kansas, 9-1
STILLWATER – Claire Timm launched her first-career grand slam and Jilyen Poullard slugged a pair of home runs as the No. 4 Oklahoma State softball team completed a series sweep of Kansas with a 9-1 victory in five innings Sunday at Cowgirl Stadium.
The win improves the Cowgirls to 42-8 on the year (19-5 in the Big 12). The loss drops the Jayhawks to 27-21-1 overall (11-13 in the Big 12).
Kansas jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single from Aynslee Linduff.
In the third, a solo shot from Poullard and a grand slam from Timm pushed the Cowgirls in front, 5-1.
Poullard added a three-run home run in the fourth inning to push the lead to 8-1.
Scotland David’s RBI walk-off double in the fifth inning brought the game to a close in run-rule fashion.
Offensively, OSU was led by Poullard (2-for-3 with four RBIs) and Timm (1-for-3 with four RBIs).
In the circle, Lexi Kilfoyl improved to 19-3, going all five innings. Savannah DesRochers picked up the loss for Kansas, dropping her to 1-1.
With this weekend’s attendance of 3,712, OSU has now set a new home regular season attendance record, with 22,070 fans packing into Cowgirl Stadium this season.
OSU returns to action when it travels to take on No. 2 Oklahoma at 6:30 p.m. Thursday for the first of a three-game series at Love’s Field.
