STILLWATER – Nine Cowboys received their seeds for the Big 12 Championships taking place March 6-7 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Daton Fix (133), Boo Lewallen (149) and Travis Wittlake (165) each received the top seed in their bracket, which marked the most in the conference along with Iowa State's three top seeds.

Six other Cowboys were seeded in the top eight of their weight classes, including three true freshman who will be making their first conference tournament appearances this weekend.

AJ Ferrari will see some stout competition at 197-pounds.

Trevor Mastrogiovanni (125) and Dustin Plott (174) are both seeded third after 10-win seasons, while AJ Ferrari is fourth in a loaded 197-pound bracket. Ferrari, who is 12-1 on the season and ranked No. 11, will look to make a run in his weight class that consists of three wrestlers ranked in the top-10 nationally.

Senior Dakota Geer will enter his third Big 12 tournament as the No. 3 seed in the 184-pound bracket, while Wyatt Sheets (157) and Austin Harris (HWT) earned the fifth seeds in their weight classes.

The only weight class Oklahoma State did not receive a pre-seed in is 141 pounds where Oklahoma State has had injury issues and was down to wrestling a back-up from 126-pounds in the last dual, a win over Oklahoma.  It is uncertain if Dusty Hone will be ready to wrestler this weekend and he would be the top option at 141-pounds after the injury retirement of starter Kaid Brock.

Oklahoma State is the favorite to win the Big 12 Championship again, but this won’t be a foregone conclusion. This weekend in Tulsa looks to be more competitive than many seasons.

Beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, the first three sessions of the event will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. The championship round will air on ESPN2 beginning at 5 p.m. CT on Sunday.
