Oklahoma State Lands Standout NC State Transfer Catcher Amanda Hasler
STILLWATER – It appears Kenny Gajewski and Co. have found their catcher for next season as NC State transfer, Amanda Hasler, announced her commitment to the Pokes on Friday.
Hasler spent the past two seasons with the Wolfpack and was stellar this past season as a sophomore. She started all 53 games behind the plate, finishing the season with a .981 fielding percentage. At the plate, Hasler hit .351, leading the team with 52 hits, 45 RBIs, a .770 slugging percentage and a .444 on-base percentage. She also led the team with 13 hit-by-pitch.
She also hit 18 home runs, which would’ve led the Cowgirls this past season, just one more than Caroline Wang.
As a freshman, she made 50 starts for the Wolfpack at catcher. From the plate, she hit .279, including nine home runs and 28 RBIs.
Originally out of Avon, CT, she was a 2019 First Team All-State selection, First Team All-Conference for Avon HS and the No. 10 overall HS prospect in the 2022 class.
The addition of Washington All-American pitcher Ruby Meylan on Friday was a huge for the Cowgirls as they’ve replaced most of the numbers from Lexi Kilfoyl, who finished her career as one of the best pitchers in Cowgirl softball history. The addition of Hasler to replace Wang, who finished her Cowgirl career this past season, immediately makes up for the loss, both on the field and at the plate, once again proving Kenny Gajewski is one of the best transfer recruiters in the country.
