Oklahoma State Softball and Kenny Gajewski Grab Another Portal Addition
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State continues the pursuit of a national championship with the evaluation and new roster additions through the transfer portal. Head coach Kenny Gajewski and his staff seem to be leaning toward transfer portal over high school recruits in reloading for the next season. The latest is super-senior outfielder Megan Delgadillo from Cal-State Fullerton. The 5-9 Delgadillo is not just a two-time All-Big West first-team honoree, a good hitter, and top defender, but she is a big-time base stealer.
In her junior season for the Titans she started all 58 games and she set a program record in a game at Hawaii with her base hit No. 258. She led the nation in stolen bases with 44 and she earned first-team All-Big West honors. Softball America, during the season, named her one of the top outfielders in college softball ranking her No. 20. Then at the end of the season D1 Softball ranked her as No. 85 in their top 100 college softball players list. She is the all-time stolen bases leader for both the Big West Conference and Cal-State Fullerton.
She hit .417 on the season and went 4-for-4 with a double, RBI and run on opening day in her first game back from ACL injury…Recorded 24 multi-hit games, four multi-RBI games and finished the season on a 14-game hitting streak while reaching base safely in the last 21 games.
Delgadillo is a career .390 hitter with 24 doubles, a home run, and 63 RBI. She has 151 career stolen bases. Her career fielding percentage is .961 with only 10 errors in five seasons played.
With her prowess in hitting, fielding, and definitely stolen bases, you would expect to see her batting at the top or near top of the line-up next season. That will be her only one in Stillwater.
Delgadillo is added to a portal list of Washington pitcher Ruby Meylan, North Carolina State catcher Amanda Hasler, Baylor pitcher RyLee Crandall, and New Mexico State shortstop Rachael Hathoot.
