Goodlow Registers First NFL Sack in Preseason Opener Rams vs. Dallas
STILLWATER – A year ago Del City native and former Tulsa Golden Hurricane defensive end Anthony Goodlow was getting used to being an Oklahoma State Cowboy in fall camp, but Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Goodlow was making his NFL debut a strong one. Goodlow went from sacking for the OSU Cowboys to sacking the Dallas Cowboys. The 6-4, 284 pound Goodlow registered a second half sack in helping Los Angeles beat Dallas 13-12 in the two teams preseason opener.
The Rams have a little of an Oklahoma State flavor. Goodlow had two tackles, one unassisted and that was his sack. He is said to be making a good impression in trainning camp. A veteran for the Rams is safety Jason Taylor II and he led the Los Angeles defense with seven tackles in the game and four of those unassisted.
The Rams also have Tanner Brown back on the roster trying out for the kicking job he came so close to winning in the 2023 training camp.
Interesting as well, when the former Oklahoma State players want to talk Bedlam they have somebody to pick on in slot receiver Drake Stoops. The former OU player and so on former Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops had a successful start to his NFL opportunity as he caught three of the four passes he was targeted with for 27-yards.
In an interesting move the Rams played only Stetson Bennett at quarterback. He had 224-yards passing with one touchdown and four interceptions. Not such a great staert for the former Georgia quarterback in his second NFL season. Dallas played two quarterbacks with Trey Lance getting the lion’s share of the snaps.
No other former Oklahoma State players registered any stats although former offensive guard Josh Sills played most of the first half for the Indianapolis Colts in their 34-30 loss to Denver. Sills is in his third season in the NFL and his second season with the Colts.
