Ollie Gordon II and Nick Martin Make USA Today Preseason All-America Lists
STILLWATER – Both Ollie Gordon II and Nick Martin were named USA Today Preseason All-Americans on Monday morning.
Gordon was listed as the First Team running back, while Martin was listed as a Second Team linebacker.
Gordon is coming off an impressive 2023 season in which he rushed for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns. He led the nation in rushing yards, yards from scrimmage with 2,062, 100-yard games with nine, 150-yard games with five and games with at least 250 yards with two. Those numbers led to Gordon winning the Doak Walker Award, the first in program history and just the fourth sophomore in college football to win the award.
He was tabbed a unanimous All-American, the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Big 12 by both the league’s coaches and the Associate Press, a Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year Award semifinalist.
As for Martin, he recorded 140 total tackles, which was second-most among FBS players in 2023. It marked the most tackles for an OSU defender since 1984, the most from a Big 12 defender since 2018 and the sixth-most in program history.
For his efforts, Martin was tabbed First Team All-Big 12 both both the league’s coaches and the Associated Press.
