Oklahoma State Softball Names Norris as Director of Operations
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball has announced Katie Norris as the program's new Director of Operations, head coach Kenny Gajewski announced today.
Norris previously served as OSU's Director of Player Development after joining the Cowgirls in 2023.
"We've been lucky to have Katie as our Director of Player Development for the past two years," Gajewski said. "But moving her into this role is a more natural fit for her with her organization skills and attention to detail. She embodies the Cowgirl Way in everything that she does and I'm thrilled to keep her on staff in this new role."
With Norris on staff in 2023 and 2024, Oklahoma State advanced to the Women's College World Series in both years and had five different Cowgirls collect NFCA All-America honors. She was part of a staff that was named the NFCA Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year in 2024.
"I am thrilled to take on these new responsibilities with Cowgirl Softball," Norris said. "And continue to contribute to our team's success in this new role."
Norris joined the Cowgirl Softball program in 2023 after she spent five years with Oklahoma State's Department of Wellness, where she worked as a grant coordinator.
Prior to working at OSU, Norris served as a volunteer assistant at her alma mater, Oklahoma, where she worked alongside a staff that was named the NFCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year in 2013. As a student-athlete at Oklahoma from 2009-12, she was a two-time All-Big 12 honoree.
Norris earned her bachelor's degree in health and exercise science in 2013 from the University of Oklahoma before receiving her master's in health promotion in 2017.
With Norris' promotion to the Director of Operations role and the additions of Chyenne Factor and Greg Bergeron to the program, the Oklahoma State Softball staff is now complete.
