
Cowgirls Lose Close Call with Auburn 2-1

CLEARWATER, Fla. – A home run for Auburn’s Abbey Smith contributed to No. 9 Oklahoma State Softball’s 2-1 loss to the Tigers on Saturday night at the Eddie C. Moore Complex. The loss drops the Cowgirls to 4-4 on the season, and Auburn remains undefeated with a 10-0 overall record.
Oklahoma State opened the scoring in the first inning off of a wild pitch that resulted in a run for Megan Delgadillo.
The Tigers tied the game up with an unearned run in the third, and Abbey Smith hit a homerun (the first of her career) to take the lead in the fifth inning.
RyLee Crandall took the loss for the Cowgirls and moved to 0-2 on the season. Auburn’s SJ Geurin improved to 5-0 with the win.
Offensive standouts for Oklahoma State included Karli Godwin (2-for-4) and Megan Delgadillo (1-for-3 with a run.)
Oklahoma State closes out their weekend at the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational against No. 14/13 Alabama tomorrow at 5 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and it can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
