New Rankings Released by Flo Wrestling Show Difference David Taylor Has Made
STILLWATER – Flo Wrestling has come out with what Iwould call a “way too early” rankings of the college wrestlers and the college teams. There is no surprise at the top as Penn State is projected No. 1 by the Flo Wrestling calculations, but Oklahoma State; under new head coach and former Penn State NCAA, Olympic, and World champion David Taylor; has made a huge rise from previously being No. 11 to sitting at No. 3.
There is no doubt the arrivals out of the transfer portal like Air Force Academy multiple Big 12 champ and All-American at heavyweight Wyatt Hendrickson make a difference. Flo Wrestling has ranked the projected starters for each of the top teams and then used those starters to project finishers in a team tournament like the NCAA.
The Cowboys status could be hurt as last season’s part-time starter at 149 pounds has been dismissed from the team after a pair of alcohol related arrests. Jordan Williams two alcohol-related arrests came within one year of each other and new head coach David Taylor announced he had dismissed Williams from the program. Williams was charged Wednesday for public intoxication and malicious injury to property. The sophomore from Tulsa went 2-2 at the NCAA Tournament as the No. 20 seed.
The Flo Wrestling system is calculated by this scoring system:
1st - 20 points
2nd - 16 points
3rd - 13.5 points
4th - 12.5 points
5th - 10 points
6th - 9 points
7th - 6.5 points
8th - 5.5 points
9th-12th - 2 points
13th-16th - 1.5 points
17th-24th - 0.5 points
Here is how we would project the Oklahoma State starting line-up based on the updated 2024-25 wrestling roster.
