Mason Rudolph Leads Titans to Preseason Win in Week Two, Plus More Former Pokes
STILLWATER – The second week of the NFL preseason saw most of the action on Saturday and several former Oklahoma State players showed off. Will Leavis is scheduled to be the starting quarterback in Tennessee, but newly acquired through free agency, Mason Rudolph is giving the Titans something to think about. Rudolph was 10-of-17 for 125-yards and threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine in the second quarter and the Titans beat Seattle 16-15. Rudolph also ran four times for 15-yards.
In Chicago the number one pick in the NFL Draft Caleb Williams is the headliner, but he is being protected in part by former Oklahoma State All-Big 12 offensive lineman Teven Jenkins. On the other side of the ball, the Bears picked up former Oklahoma State linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga from the Chargers. The last two weeks Ogbongbemiga has been one of the Bears top defenders. In the 27-3 win on Saturday afternoon over Cincinnati he had six tackles, three unassisted, he defended a pass, and had a hit on the quarterback.
Also, in that game former Oklahoma State and Michigan State running back Elijah Collins, playing for the Bengals, had eight carries for 21-yards rushing and has two catches for 15-yards.
The Baltimore Ravens edged the Atlanta Falcons 13-12 and former Oklahoma State wide receiver Tylan Wallace had one catch for 31-yards. He was only targeted once. One of the wide receiver stars prior to Wallace was two-time Biletnikoff Award winner James Washington, who was signed by the Falcons a few weeks ago. He was targeted twice in the game but had no receptions. Former OSU quarterback Zac Robinson is the new Falcons offensive coordinator and they had 343-yards of total offense in the contest. Of course, Todd Monken is the offensive coordinator at Baltimore. Monken is a good friend of Mike Gundy’s and his son, Travis, is on the OSU staff.
Jaylen Warren went to the Pittsburgh Steelers locker room early in the contest with a reported hamstring injury. Prior to the injury Warren carried once for one-yard and had two receptions for 14-yards. Pittsburgh lost to Buffalo 9-3 in a rematch of a playoff game from last season.
The Los Angeles Rams won the battle of the City of Angels beating the Chargers at SoFi Stadium 13-9. Former Oklahoma State and Carl Albert High School standout Jason Taylor II had two tackles and one unassisted. He also had a pass defended and recovered a fumble. Rookie defensive end Anthony Goodlow had two tackles, both unassisted, and he had a quarterback hit. On the Chargers side, receiver Leon Johnson III was targeted once but did not have a catch.
In the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-7 win over Tampa Bay Tre Flowers in the secondary had three tackles, two unassisted and he had two passes he defended. Tyler Lacy on the Jags defensive line had one unassisted tackle for a loss.
In the Miami Dolphins win over Washington 13-6, former OSU defensive end and offseason free agent signee on a lucrative deal Emmanuel Ogbah had one tackle.
Sunday night in San Francisco the 49ers beat the New Orleans Saints 16-10 and former Cowboys receiver Tay Martin in his second season with the 49ers after a year on the practice squad had two receptions for 17-yards. The two catches were out of three targets.
