Los Angeles Chargers Waive Leon Johnson III
STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State wide receiver Leon Johnson III is looking for a new home in the NFL as he was waived by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Johnson had one target and no catches this past weekend in a 13-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He didn’t have any targets in the 16-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks back in the first week of preseason.
Expected to redshirt and spend two seasons in Stillwater, Johnson was thrust into play once De’Zhaun Stribling went down with a wrist injury. He finished the season with 33 catches for 539 yards and one touchdown.
It’s certainly possible you’ll see Johnson land on another NFL roster during the preseason.
