Oklahoma State Places Six On Senior Bowl Watch List
STILLWATER – The Senior Bowl announced its preseason watch list ahead of the 2024 season, and Oklahoma State has six players on the list.
There are four offensive and two defensive Cowboys on the list.
Leading the way is running back Ollie Gordon II, followed by receivers Brennan Presley and Rashod Owens, lineman Dalton Cooper and linebackers Nick Martin and Collin Oliver.
There are 859 prospects on the watch list, with the Senior Bowl taking place February 1 at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, AL. The game will kickoff at 1:30 p.m. CT and will air on the NFL Network.
It’s also important to note players can be added to the list throughout the season based on play.
The reigning Doak Walker Award winner leads the way for the Pokes, as he’s coming off 2023 season in which he led the nation in rushing yards, which paired with 21 rushing touchdowns. Along with the Doak Walker Award, he was also tabbed a unanimous All-American, the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and a unanimous First Team All-Big 12 selection by both the league’s coaches and the AP.
"Right now, the deeper groups look like running back, tight end, interior defensive line and cornerback," Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy said in an article from the NFL. "There's also an interesting group of off-the-ball linebackers compared to the past couple drafts. And I really don't see that changing much."
The Cowboys have two talented linebackers on the list, both of which should find their names being called fairly early in the 2025 NFL Draft. Nick Martin is coming off an incredible 2023 season where he recorded 140 total tackles, which was the most tackles by a Cowboy defender since 1984. Those numbers were good for First Team All-Big 12 and an honorable mention for Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.
Oliver racked up 73 total tackles, which earned him Second Team All-Big 12 honors, making him the ninth defensive Cowboy to earn three all-conference selections.
As for Brennan Presley and Rashod Owens, the athletic duo combined for nearly 2,000 yards and 11 touchdowns and are set for a better season in 2024.
