Cowgirl Softball Sweeps Opening Weekend at Cowgirl Stadium

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team improved to 18-1 on the season with a 7-0 victory against Tulsa.

Returning All-American Carrie Eberle (7-0, 0.71 ERA) picked up her seventh win of the season. Eberle struck out four batters in her fourth complete game shutout of the year.

The Cowgirl offense found power in front of the home crowd, hitting four homers on the day.

Alysen Febrey went 2-for-3 at the plate, including two homers and 3 RBI. Karli Petty (1-for-3, RBI) and Sydney Pennington (2-for-4, 1 RBI) also contributed home runs to the balanced OSU attack. Petty, Febrey, and Pennington all had home runs in the sixth inning.

Shortstop Kiley Naomi showed her versatility today, going 3-for-3 with 2 RBI and a walk, while also stealing her 10th base of the year. Hayley Busby continued her hot streak this weekend, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

OSU is back in action at Cowgirl Stadium on Wednesday to take on North Texas. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. CT.
