Report: Bedlam Basketball Set for December 14 in Oklahoma City

STILLWATER – We’ve heard for months the Bedlam game between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma in men’s basketball will be taking place in mid-December at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma State.

Well, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, the Cowboys and Sooners have finalized a contract and will face off on Dec. 14.

This will mark the first Bedlam outside the Big 12 in quite some time as the Sooners officially joined the SEC over the summer.

This is an important announcement for the program as the Bedlam series needs to be played. 

“Well, let’s just be honest, Cowboys don’t like Sooners,” head coach Steve Lutz said back in the spring. “It’s great for our state. Everybody wants to be able to say, ‘Hey, this is the year that we beat the Sooners in basketball and football and on the down the line.’ So, it’s bragging rights and everything that comes with it.”

This will mark the first Bedlam series under Steve Lutz, who took over the program back in the spring following the departure of former head coach, Mike Boynton, who’s now an assistant coach at Michigan.
