STILLWATER – Steve Lutz has filled Oklahoma State basketball’s last roster spot with Serbian big man, Andrija Vukovich.

Vukovich checks in at 6-11, 265 pounds and immediately brings size and strength to the Pokes’ line up.

"To get a player and person of Andrija's caliber is a big win for Oklahoma State, especially this late in the summer,”said head coach Steve Lutz. “He is a strong, physical guy who moves well and can defend and finish around the rim. Competing at highest level of Serbian basketball should help speed up Andrija's development and make for a smooth transition to the Big 12. We're excited to welcome him to Stillwater and Cowboy Basketball Family!"

This past spring, Vukovich played for KK Vršac, a team currently competing in the Basketball League of Serbia. He played in 22 games, averaging 6.1 points on 66% shooting from the field, he went 4-for-6 from 3-point range, but unfortunately shot just 56% from the free throw line. He also had 2.5 rebounds per game.

Pokes Report

With these stats, it’s important to realize Vukovich was born in 2005 and was playing in a Serbian professional basketball league.

With the addition of Vukovich, the Pokes’ roster for the 2024-25 season is officially filled, as he joins Marchelus Avery, Khalil Brantley, Davonte Davis, Arturo Dean, Connor Dow, Robert Jennings II, Jamyron Keller, Mikey Kelvin II, Brandon Newman, Abou Ousmane, Patrick Suemnick and Bryce Thompson.

While they’re three years old, you can watch some of Vuković’s highlights here.

wow - nice.

I mean, not the greatest statistics but we desperately needed more size with the one spot still open, and I had believed the window was closed on adding players since school had started and registration is closed.

But here we go!

Now I really can't wait to see what this team is capable of. I have the same minimum expectation for them as I do any Poke team, make the big dance.

Coach Lutz has a reputation of developing big men so here is his first Cowboys prospect to work with. Success (or failure) will go along way in encouraging other big men to follow in coming seasons. Makes for an interesting data point along the way to re-creating Cowboys basketball. Of course I expect smashing success.
