NFL Preseason Week 3: Rudolph Continues to Make Ground, Wallace Scores

STILLWATER – It was a decent week of preseason action for the former Oklahoma State Cowboys in the NFL as teams are gearing up for the start of the new season.

We’ll start with quarterback, Mason Rudolph, as he helped the Tennessee Titans to a 30-27 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

While it was Malik Willis who scored the two quarterback touchdowns for the Titans, Rudolph made a few more steps towards earning the second-string spot as he went 11-for-15 for 114 yards.

The Titans kick the regular season off on Sept. 8 as they travel up to Chicago to face the Bears.

Tylan Wallace was just about the only bright spot for the Baltimore Ravens as he scored the lone touchdowns in a 30-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Saturday. He had just one catch for 48 yards and the score.

Oklahoma State fans could make the short trip up to Kansas City on Thursday, Sept. 5 as the Ravens start their season on the road at the Chiefs. That game will be televised on NBC with a start time of 7:20 p.m. CT.

Tyron Billy-Johnson is working his way towards staying with the Dallas Cowboys as he recorded two catches for 33 yards on three targets in the 26-19 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers over the weekend.

Should Billy-Johnson make the roster, the Cowboys open the 2024 season on the road against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. CT.

We could’ve had a chance to see both Jaylen Warren and Malcolm Rodriguez as the Lions hosted and beat the Steelers, 24-17. However, both were on the sidelines with injuries. While it’s unfortunate, Rodriguez didn’t play a snap of preseason football and Pokes Report has learned it’s possible the Lions could cut him. But fear not Cowboy fans because he’d be picked up before the ink dried on the waiver wire.

The Steelers start the season on the road against the Atlanta Falcons with a noon CT start on Sept. 8. Should Malcolm stay with the Lions, they kick things off by hosting the Los Angeles Rams for the Sunday Night Football game on NBC on Sept. 8. Kickoff is at 7:20 p.m. CT.

Ame Ogbongbemiga recorded three total tackles in the 34-21 win over the Kansas City Chiefs this past Thursday. With how he’s played through the preseason, I’d be shocked if he didn’t make the final roster. The Bears host the Titans on Sept. 8 with a noon CT kick.

Jason Taylor II was a bright spot on defense for the Rams as they fell to the Houston Texans, 17-15. He recorded four total tackles, three of which were solo stops and had a pass breakup. Much like Ogbongbemiga, I’d be shocked if JT didn’t make the final roster. As mentioned above, the Rams are in Detroit to start the season.
