STILLWATER – After months of anticipation, it’s finally game day in Stillwater as Oklahoma State is set to host the two-time reigning FCS national champions, South Dakota State in the season opener.

The Cowboys are coming off a 10-4 season in 2023, which included wins over Kansas State, Kansas, West Virginia, Oklahoma, a trip to the Big 12 title game and a win over Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl. 

This article will be updated throughout the day with news and notes, the injury report a few hours before kickoff and live updates throughout the game.

First Quarter

First down! Ollie Gordon II picks up 10 yards on his first touch of the day. 1st and 10 from the SDSU 44-yard line. 

First down! Alan Bowman finds Rashod Owens for six yards and the first down at the SDSU 31-yard line.

They were stacking the box determined not to let the running game hurt them which they payed for with our passing game!!! One thing that stood out is Bowman pretty much had all day to throw because they could not get near hm!!! You and I were right we were too strong and too fast man for man for them to handle! I respect them lot because they don't give up and seem like a pretty tough bunch! God, The temperature may have only been in the mid 80s but the humidity today was brutal!!!

I'm for sure not beating their guys up, but those guys aren't as good as big 12 WRs and they were wide open on a lot of plays. I don't blame Korie for that Td at all amazing catch.
I don't know what game you were watching but two of those receivers, Griffin and Georing, could play in the Big XII right now!!! Gronowski was 20 - 37 which is 54% well below his average of the last two years, 68.1% in 2023 and 65.1% in 2022! We picked him off once and should have had another in the second half!!!
