Oklahoma State Announces 2024-25 Home Dual Schedule
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State wrestling announced its 2024-25 home dual schedule, which features seven duals inside historic Gallagher-Iba Arena.
David Taylor certainly isn’t taking it easy during his first year as head coach as six of the seven home opponents enter the upcoming season ranked in the preseason top-25 InterMat rankings. It also features two teams out of the ACC in Virginia Tech and NC State and five Big 12 opponents.
The Cowboys kick the home slate off against Wyoming on Friday, Nov. 22, with the dual beginning at 7 p.m. CT. The all-time record between the pair of Cowboys is extremely lopsided as the Pokes in orange and black are 27-0-1 all-time. According to the release from Oklahoma State, the Cowboys have won 25-straight home duals.
Next up will be the Sun Devils of Arizona State on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. CT. This marks the first year in the Big 12 for ASU, but the second-straight seasons the Cowboys have hosted them in Stillwater. Much like Wyoming, the Cowboys have been very successful against ASU, having won 40 of the 44 all-time meetings.
The Cowboys have one home dual in the month of December on Thursday the 19th against Virginia Tech. The Hokies enter the season ranked No. 6th in the preseason rankings. This will mark the second all-time opponent between OSU and VT, with the Hokies beating the Pokes in 2011. According to Oklahoma State Athletics, should OSU win, it would give them a .500 or better record against every opponent they’ve faced since the inaugural season in 1915.
There are three home duals in the month of January, beginning Friday the third against Air Force. Then two-straight preseason ranked opponents, starting with No. 7 NC State on Sunday, Jan. 12 and No. 16 West Virginia on Sunday the 19th.
The Cowboys put a bow on the home schedule hosting one of the best programs in the country in Missouri on Sunday, February 2nd. The Cowboys beat the Tigers last season on the road in Columbia 24-10, with the Pokes holding a 46-8-1 all-time record.
