Oklahoma State Shutout By Arkansas in NCAA Soccer

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma State’s season came to an end in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship Friday night as No. 2 national seed Arkansas handed the Cowgirls a 4-0 loss at Razorback Field.The Cowgirls finish their season with a 14-5-3 mark. The 14 wins are OSU’s most in a season since 2019.Arkansas, the nation’s top scoring team, netted all four of its goals in the opening half to improve to 15-2-2.

The Razorbacks jumped out to the lead just 5:41 into the match when Kate Doyle delivered a 16-yard shot to the far post for her 12th goal of the season.

UA doubled its lead in the 16th minute when Anaiyah Robinson got free in the box and slipped a six-yard shot just inside the near post.

Doyle struck again less than two minutes later as the home team took a 3-0 advantage.

The Cowgirls were not without scoring opportunities in the opening half as they had three shots on goal. An early opportunity by Laudan Wilson that would have tied the game at 1-1 was savedby an Arkansas defender, and a diving stop by goalie Keegan Smith thwarted a blast by Xcaret Pineda. An attempt by Gracie Bindbeutel was also saved by Smith.

UA capped its first-half scoring with just over four minutes remaining until intermission when Kiley Dulaney headed in a corner kick.

The Razorbacks finished the match with a 20-6 advantage in shots and a 12-3 edge in corner kicks.

Grace Gordon tied her OSU career high with eight saves in her final game with the Cowgirls.
