Is Maealiuaki Smith Next for Oklahoma State at Quarterback?

STILLWATER – The main question on the radio show today (Tuesday, Nov. 26) is Maealiuaki Smith the starting quarterback for next season? Has he at least established he is the front runner? My answer and I’m not trying to be difficult here or hard on the freshman, but one start doesn’t earn the starting quarterback job for the next season. Smith had great numbers, won the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honor, and cranked up as much offense as Oklahoma State has seen all season.

I think you get a better read on where he is this Friday when he goes against The Colorado because they have a much better defense than Texas Tech!

It just can't be Rangel and that's not because I have anything against the kid. It's just that if it's Smith or Flores or a transfer then I'll believe that Mike is taking a swing at being competitive. If it's Rangel, we're playing it safe and we'll be right back here again next year wondering what went wrong.
