One Time Only! Review of the 2024 Season that Ranks as One of Oklahoma State's Worst

How is this article dwelling in misery? It is just a write up of facts. Robert wrote about things that happened that need to be corrected. It's a good thing that people care and want to see OSU return to winning at the clip we've gotten used to under Gundy.

I have been watching OSU since 1958 when my brother was in school here and I was eleven years old. This was the most disappointing year I can remember, including oh ten and one. Moving forward will Armstrong be ready to go in the spring recovering from his injury and surgery, whatever it was and what position will he play?

Ok here goes! Robert and Zach may take this post down but it looks like things are already happening! The only coaches on defense that will be retained is Duffie and possibly JB Clements! Basically a new defensive staff! I am still trying to get verification on how many offensive assistants will be kept! Stay tuned!

It's true, except no on JBC, just Duffie. On offense I think most will be happy as well.

Guys, if we change out most of the coaches on both sides of the ball next year will be a re-building train wreck. We will already be getting 50+ new players. The coaches will need time to get to know each other and the players. Same for the players getting to know each other and the new coaches. Everybody will be learning a new Defenses and Offense (if Dunn goes and many of his coaches only Gundy will be left to teach everyone his offense).

I strongly support getting a new D coordinator, but the D was so bad in all phases I can't figure out which coaches need to be replaced. Remember, only Randolph and Nardo are new. The LB and DB coaches have been here a long time and have only been bad since Nardo started calling plays. I think a lot of the problem was the plays being called.

Why do we have to run the same offense? Gundy teaching everyone his offense or Dunn's offense?

Unknown. Right now the importance is being placed on getting the budgets for the replacements.

Hopefully, Gundy gets retained and rights the ship to coach another ten-years, but his contract may be restructured whereby he only gets extension yearly based on having winning records.

Similar long term HC had similar down seasons such as Whittingham and Ferentz and then they had a long string of winning seasons after a bad season, so it would seem based on Gundy history a second chance is deserved.

Turning teams around quickly in first two seasons is rare and these three coaches may used these jobs as stepping stones jobs.

We need to trust Gundy, the greatest OSU football coach, and give him a chance to fix this mess. Gundy deserves that chance and has more than earned it. I plan on donating a little more to PWAP because it is about all I can do to help. "Loyal and True" means do what you can when sh-t hits the fan. The fan is messy. Donate, if you can, even a little. GO POKES!!!

Hell, to add on I think it's great if our coordinators get better jobs. I'd sell the hell out of that to hungry coordinators. "We hire great coaches and places with all the money and exposure in the world are chomping at the bit to get the guys we find. Sucks to lose Jim Knowles and Todd Monken but look at the opportunity Oklahoma State afforded them and they're on top of the world now."

And all the while we're all the better for it. Of course I wouldn't interview a coach and say all that and encourage them jumping ship, but there's definitely a way to use that to your advantage.

I want a clean sweep on both sides of the ball if possible. Dunn needs to be gone and I would LOVE it if Gundy was somehow forced to hire a quality OC. Gundy needs to be told he's not to focus on anything except being CEO of this program. Leave the coordinating to the coordinators.

Agreed on JB. Recruiting has been an issue and it doesn't seem to be his strength.

I understand RA is a homer and he is often in a delicate situation with his position. However, I don't expect comments like his at the beginning of the season, one of which was him saying this could be the best Pokes team he has ever seen. (please don't defend the use of "could" as that was not the context). A little more objective reporting or even hinting at what's going on or concerns would be appreciated. Only now, after the season, do we seem to get the truth.
