Oklahoma State Picks Up Another Junior College Transfer in Jeremy Cook

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has gone back to the Mississippi junior college ranks to bolster their depth in the secondary as safety Jeremy Cook has visited and committed to joining the Cowboys program in January. Cook will be coached some by the same coach that had him at East Mississippi in new Cowboys defensive assistant, coaching nickel safeties in Kevie Thompson. Thompson and the new defensive staff had a big role in targeting Cook. 

Cook is the second East Mississippi C.C. player to be joining Oklahoma State as defensive end Rashod Bradley signed with OSU on the Dec. 4 signing day.

Jeremy Cook

The 6-3, 195 pound freshman from this season for the Lions. He played in eight games this season and finished with 24 tackles, 14 unassisted tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery. He proved to be exactly what East Mississippi thought he would be when they recruited him out of powerhouse Alabama high school, Hoover. He was a three-star prospect that committed early his senior season to Arkansas. Something fell through and he ended up committed to Jackson State before ending up at East Mississippi C.C.

Cook will have three seasons to play at Oklahoma State unless he gets grandfathered into the new junior college rule and then he will have four full seasons of eligibility. 

We know that Cook played primarily on offense early in his high school career before moving to defend where his interest took off. He had offers from Cicinnati, Southern Miss, and South Alabama as well as the two schools he committed to in Arkansas and later switched to Jackson State.
