No. 24 Oklahoma State Rolls Past UCF, 72-58

ORLANDO – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team bounced back from its midweek loss at Houston with a 72-58 victory over UCF  inside Addition Financial Arena.

OSU improved to 15-3 overall and 5-2 in league play. The win was its 50th under the direction of head coach Jacie Hoyt.

The Cowgirls got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 9-3 start to force a UCF timeout three minutes into the contest. After the break, OSU tacked on four more points to push the margin to 10.

OSU would shoot 61 percent in the frame to take a 25-14 lead with Stailee Heard leading the way with eight points.

In the second period, Anna Gret Asi drilled her third 3-pointer of the half at the 6:07 mark to highlight a 7-0 spurt which pushed the lead to 35-19.

Despite hitting just one of their final eight shots of the half, the Cowgirls would shoot 50 percent with Heard (16 points) and Asi (10 points) leading the way offensively. OSU would lead 41-26 at the break.

Three minutes into the third quarter, Micah Gray buried a 3-pointer and the Cowgirls' lead swelled to 20 at 48-28.

OSU would get back-to-back treys from opposite corners from Macey Huard and Gray to extend the margin to 24 with 4:34 remaining in the period.

The Cowgirls would take a 58-36 lead into the final stanza.

OSU would score 10 of the first 14 to start the fourth to take a 68-40 lead with six minutes to go.

Heard finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Asi added 15, Ténin Magassa scored 12 and gray finished with 11.
