Oklahoma State Softball Picked Atop the Big 12 Preseason Poll
2STILLWATER – It’s been a good couple of days for Oklahoma State’s diamond sports as just yesterday baseball was picked preseason favorites to win the Big 12. On Friday, it was the Cowgirls’ turn as the league’s coaches picked them to win the conference.
This marks the first time in program history the Cowgirls have been picked atop the preseason polls.
There are 11 Big 12 softball teams, and coaches aren’t allowed to picked their own team. Of those 11 votes, the Cowgirls received nine. Texas Tech, who was picked second, received the other two.
In the coaches’ poll, the head coaches were not allowed to pick their own team.

The Cowgirls also lead the conference with six players named to the All-Big 12 Preseason team. It includes RyLee Crandall, Ruby Meylan, Claire Timm, Megan Delgadillo, Tallen Edwards and Karli Godwin.
The Cowgirls enter the 2025 season having made the Women’s College World Series down in Oklahoma City the past five seasons. They also finished with an impressive 21-6 Big 12 record, winning all but one conference series.
Head coach Kenny Gajewski joined Ryan Breeden and myself on the Afternoon Sports Drive on Triple Play Sports Radio back in September and told us this was his most talented team.
Well, the awards the past few days backs that theory up.
The trio of Megan Degadillo, Karli Godwin and Ruby Meylan were named to USA Softball’s Collegiate Player of the Year watchlist, as well as D1Softball second team preseason All-Americans.
