Former Cowboy Jordan Williams With Heartfelt Message to Carter Young Following Win

The No. 2 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys rolled into Little Rock, AR, on Saturday and won a hard-fought dual against No. 16 Little Rock, 25-13.

"Got a little tougher than what we had hoped, but that's wrestling," head coach David Taylor said. "We were able to figure it out at the end. Momentum was shifting back and forth, but we were tough on top and that resilience showed."

There were multiple familiar faces, including head coach, Neil Erisman, who was a four-year letterman and the 2011 and 2013 Big 12 champion, followed by a national runner-up at 157 pounds at Oklahoma State.

Another familiar face was former Cowboy, Jordan Williams. Williams was dismissed from the program in the summer of 2024 following a second alcohol-related arrest in less than a year. He had a solid freshman season with the Pokes in 2023, going 17-9 overall and a runner-up at the Big 12 championships.

After being dismissed by coach Taylor following the second arrest, Williams found a new home with Erisman and the Trojans over in little rock. After sitting out the first half of the season due to NCAA rules, Williams wrestled his way to a No. 12 ranking nationally, and a showdown with his former roommate in Stillwater, Carter Young.

Williams and Young made it all the way to tiebreakers, where Williams won 3-2. Following the dual, Williams took to Instagram to show is love and appreciation for Young.

“Wanted to thank @tech_fall. This guy has been nothing but help towards me. When I was in jail after receiving a public intoxication and dismissed from ok state, he and a couple of other guys came up with bail money and sat there waiting for me to be released. After they comforted me and stuck by my side during the transfer process. A training partner, a roommate, and a great friend. Even after everything that has happened, he continues to be a great friend. I can't thank you enough. Looking forward to wrestling you again, Carter. Love you”

While it was a loss for Young, it was a great moment and great to read about a great friendship forged in Stillwater.
