The final day for Oklahoma State linebackers Nick Martin and Collin Oliver at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis and the big news was that Martin continued the strong performances by the Cowboys. Martin was in the top five of every category from Thursday’s testing except for the three-cone drill and the 20-yard shuttle, which he did not compete in. Martin was fifth in the forty (4.53), fourth in the 10-yard split (1.54), fifth in the vertical jump (39”). and was sixth in the broad jump (10’3”).  Martin made Oklahoma State Director of Athletic Performance Rob Glass and his staff proud by tying to the top among linebackers with the bench press at 26 reps. Not quite the 36 reps that former Cowboys and current Detroit Lions linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez did in his Pro Day in Stillwater back in 2022. Martin tied at 26 reps with Teddye Buchanan of Cal.

Player, School Bench Press Reps
Teddye Buchanan, California 26
Nick Martin, Oklahoma State  26
Demetrius Knight Jr., South Carolina 22
Eugene Asante, Auburn 21
Jeffrey Bassa, Oregon 21
Jackson Woodard, UCLA 21

Collin Oliver did not test in the bench press on Friday after he pulled up in the pass rush drill in Thursday’s position work. Pokes Report learned that Oliver after the final drill was pulled out. We’re not sure if he needed medical attention, but he was coming off a thigh or quad injury at the Reese’s Senior Bowl. It kind of looked as if aggravated that injury as he was going very intense in the pass rush drill.

Oliver ran a 4.56 in the forty and had a 1.57 10-yard split. He had a 39” vertical jump. which placed him third among all linebackers and he was third as well with a 10’6” broad jump.

Strong testing throughout for the two Oklahoma State Cowboys.

The third Oklahoma State player at the NFL Combine is running back Ollie Gordon II. He checked in on Tuesday and has been doing all of the medical tests, other exams and seminars, and the team interviews at night. We do know that the Denver Broncos interviewed Gordon II with one of their 45 allowed player choices. Gordon will surely be asked to address his arrest and situation from last summer, but by all accounts with Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy and the staff, Gordon worked through the situation and corrected himself.

When Gordon went through testing he measured at 6-1, 233 pounds. The NFL with their analytics has Gordon II ranked 11th among the back at the NFL Combine with a score of 6.15, which grades out at 6.15. The running backs work out on the field on Saturday, March 1 with the quarterbacks and wide receivers.
