Nick Martin Tabbed All-Combine Defensive Team Selection
STILLWATER – The NFL just found out what Oklahoma State fans have known for a few seasons: Nick Martin is very good at football.
On Tuesday, the NFL announced Nick Martin is on the All-Combine Defensive Team.
Martin tied with Cal linebacker Teddye Buchanan with 26 reps on the bench press rep test totop all linebackers and it was top 10 over in the NFL Combine.
Martin had a great showing at the Combine last week as he posted a 4.53 forty time, a 1.54 10-yard split, a 38-inch vertical and a broad jump of 10 feet, three inches.
He was excellent on the four-bag agility drill, looking down only twice and he reportedly checked in with a good time. He was especially smooth on the shuttle, sprint and change of direction drill. Martin also caught every pass thrown to him. He was OK on the pass rush drill where you swim and bend with the bags, and his back pedal was as good as any and he finished with another catch. He also had 26 reps on the bench.
Martin did not, however, participate in the 3-cone and 5-10-5 drills, as he’ll most likely do so at the Big 12 Pro Day. It’s also possible he could do any other of the events at the conference pro day in Frisco.
