STILLWATER – A sixth inning RBI single from Baylor's Turiya Coleman led to No. 13 Oklahoma State Softball's 1-0 loss to Baylor at Cowgirl Stadium Friday.

With the loss, the Cowgirls dropped to 17-7 overall and 2-3 in the Big 12. The Bears improved to 13-17 overall and 2-5 in the Big 12.

Ruby Meylan (10-2) went the distance in the circle for OSU, striking out nine and allowing only four hits in taking the hard-luck loss. Lillie Walker (3-5) was the winner for Baylor.

After five scoreless innings, the sixth was loaded with significance. With a runner on first and one out, BU's Shaylon Govan singled to the gap in left-center field. OSU's Megan Delgadillo cut the ball off before the wall and found shortstop Megan Bloodworth, who threw Amber Toven out at the plate to preserve the tie. One batter later, Coleman singled to center and Delgadillo came up throwing again, this time delivering a strike directly to catcher Amanda Hasler that beat pinch runner Gigi Lindsey to the plate, but Lindsey's slide jarred the ball out of Hasler's glove for the game's lone run.

Offensive standouts for the Cowgirls included Hasler (2-for-2 with a double) and Megan Bloodworth (1-for-3 with a double.)

Meylan reached 100 strikeouts on the season in the contest.

Game two of the series is set for 2 p.m. CT tomorrow. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
